Communications technology giant Cisco has officially introduced Collaboration for Events, a suite of tech tools that facilitate virtual and in-person/virtual hybrid collaboration. Cisco has been using the tools to extend the reach of its own events and those of a handful of customers, but will now actively promote and sell them to the meetings industry. Among the tools: Cisco TelePresence, high-definition video-conferencing solutions designed to closely emulate face-to-face meeting experiences; Cisco WebEx Event Center, which allows virtual attendees to attend in-person events from their desktops; Cisco Show and Share, a webcasting and video-sharing platform; Cisco Digital Signs, digital signage with touch-screen capability that can be updated instantly from a central location; and video analytics, the use of permanent or temporary video surveillance equipment to analyze show traffic automatically, as well as attendee needs and interests.
