In 2008 EMIF will start with a completely new project. They have seen the importance of technology and innovations in the meetings industry and want to give proper attention to those companies. There will be a separate pavilion for innovations and a pavilion for association services. Both pavilions get extra marketing support.

Held every year, one day prior to the show, Association Day has been one of the big successes of IMEX.
"IMEX Association Day was probably the largest-ever gathering in Europe of international association planners...the feedback has been phenomenal."
Martin Sirk, CEO, International Congress and Convention Association
A record number of influential association delegates are forecast to attend the 08 event, drawn by the stimulating mix of themed sessions and round-table discussions on relevant issues, and the chance to meet old and new contacts in a great atmosphere. The dinners with MSI know an increasing success and we think it is because the new bread of meeting professionals that get together. Innovative, creative and technology people get together. A lot of ideas float arround and some great thinking takes place. The energy from the last MSI dinner in Barcelona is still resonating. "Double Food dinners" so to speak: great local dishes on the table and food for thought.
The EIBTM dinner in December 2007 has 29 participants and for IMEX we probably will have more. Let us know if you want to join, everybody is welcome and everyone goes Dutch (each pays own bill).

This workshop is aimed at “elevating the conversation” for a select group of WEC participants. Specifically created for more advanced and ambitious in-house and third-party planners, it will provide an overview of the concept of meeting design. The meetings industry has been, up to this point in its history, primarily focused on excellence in meeting logistics. Meeting design, on the other hand, addresses the ways in which meetings can be more interactive, engaging, and strategic.
This Master Class includes an interview with Maarten Vanneste, CMM author of 'Meeting Architecture, a manifesto' (MSI 2008)
