SIG meeting Business Tourism. Progress in Business Events Education and Research: The presentation was basically a summary of the book meeting architecture in seven chapters. The objective was to introduce the profession of meeting architecture and propose a future master degree in meeting architecture. The audience was very attentive and asked several good questions. Joyce , the manager of the MPI European office, Commented: “this was the best presentation I have seen from Maarten and we should get this in the program of the faculty meeting at IMEX.” A report on this event HERE | |||

The Meeting Support Institute had a booth at the Technology zone of EIBTM amongst many other members. It was a great fair with many interesting appointments. One of the meeting planners said: "I am checking out today what tools are on the marketi. Keeping up-to-date with the technology trends is evry time consuming. Maarten Vanneste was a guest speaker during the UIA Associate Members Meeting in Brussels. During this meeting he introduces the audience with his new Meeting Architecture Process. Historically this meeting has featured technological developments which impact the design and implementation of international events and the business of the meetings industry. Building Team Participation at meetings and conferences Meetings and conferences are great places to start or maximize employee involvement. Besides typical top down presentations, participants at meetings can get active in peer to peer and bottom up learning. The Meeting Support Institute is actively gathering, promoting and developing tools, services and methodologies to enhance the collaboration, empowerment and overall involvement of participants. The presentation showed a number of tools (creative, technical and technological) that can be used at conferences. We organised our first Meeting Content Conference for meeting planners to learn how to influence the learning, networking and motivation at meetings. With 50 registrations we had more delegates then hoped for on a first event. All participants were enthusiastic, involved and happy to be part of this unique experience. The IMEX TECH TAP – for Meeting Support Solutions provides a quick and easy update for meeting planners. Showcasing the most innovative solutions for the industry including creative, technical and technological solutions for planning and promoting meetings. Maarten Vanneste presented at the MPI PEC-E in Copenhagen. Session Title: Driving Content at Meetings Concept: 30min theoretical presentation on the subject of meeting support - how to increase ROI by improving education, networking, and motivation. A little science will help you understand the processes involved. Then you get 30min of demonstration of the different tools and services that enhances the learning, networking and motivation of participants in meetings. During the last 30min we utilise these tools to build a fictitious meeting programme. | |||

Once again, the Meeting Support Institute organised a group stand at the trade fair EMIF, the top international trade fair for meetings, incentives, congresses, technology and business travel in the Benelux. We presented the Meeting Support concept in a Learning Lab during MPI's NL conference. 6 member companies participated and got a speed presentation in the room with meeting planners, hoteliers etc. 18 planners subscribed for the session, but on the day we had about 30 delegates! I went to Paris as a visitor to check out if this is a good trade show for our members. Looking at the exhibitors of this trade show, I think this could be a good show for the Meeting Support Institute. Heavent has a seperate area for technical suppliers and other service suppliers of the Meeting and event industry. It is however quite event-orientated. But maybe that is not a problem for our members. | |||
