After reporting about this tool in presentations in 2007, it now will soon become available on the market. The project from Microsoft has a name: VICON REVUE. It is a small camera that you ware as a badge on a lanyard. It actually has space for a self adhesive badge. The idea is that you wear it during a conference while its built in camera registers all people you talk to. (It takes pictures of when something moves in front of its lens.
As a badge holder it may be a bit expensive, but to enhance the networking and learning this may become a great tool that companies could rent with service. The badge generates a movie of all the pictures and by looking at that movie, conference participants will get an increased memory of the people they met and the things they did and learned.
My guess is that this will cost about 25,- per participant per conference.
Would you use it for your conference?
